Worship services online only starting July 26

Online Worship Service.

Posted: July 21, 2020

Fairhaven family,

As we navigate this unprecedented time together, we’ve had to make a lot of changes, and we’re so thankful for your flexibility and understanding. As the situation continues to evolve, we’re continuing to take steps to keep our church strong, healthy and effective.

Starting this Sunday, July 26, we will begin six weeks of online only worship services. For the past two months, our staff and serve teams have poured a lot of time, energy and resources into our live worship services. Since July 8 and Montgomery County’s designation as a ”red” county, our attendance at each campus and service has declined every week. We serve you, and we hear you! We’re thankful for getting to share those live experiences; however, we think there’s a better use of Kingdom resources at this time.

We want to focus our energy on a plan that better serves our entire church family, as well as all the friends, neighbors and coworkers you’re inviting. We want to develop a plan we can live in without having to make big changes every time there’s a new development. In other words, we want to go on offense, instead of playing defense!

What would it look like if rather than inviting people to one of our campuses on Sunday, we made each of our homes a campus? If your situation allows, we encourage you to invite a few people to your home to experience an online worship service with you. If you’re unable to do that right now, then we encourage you to continue to invite people to attend church online with you virtually.

While our worship services will be online only, other activities will continue in-person gatherings as scheduled, since they are smaller in size. It is our hope to gather in person for worship and communion on Sunday, September 6. We’ll continue to evaluate recommendations from government officials and healthcare professionals to help determine our next step. Until then, let’s make every home a campus!

I call us to worship! Let’s not allow this season to extinguish our worship.

I call us to prayer! Let’s pray for God to intervene, and by His grace, not allow the enemy to destroy the community of God’s people.

I call us to be open to spiritual conversations! Many are looking for answers, and though this is an uncertain time, we worship a God of certainty!

See you online,

David
