Fairhaven Church loves kids! They hold them in high value and are intentional to teach them about the ways of Jesus and His unconditional love. Children are a true gift to this world. To have faith more like a child we must spend time with them. An unknown source once said, “Children are the hands by which we take hold of heaven.” So true!
I was not brought up in the church. In my late teens I began seeking the truth of who Jesus was. My senior year of college, I met my wonderful husband and his family. They loved me just for me and showed me a Jesus who was real, alive, relevant, kind, sacrificial and loving. At the age of 21, I accepted Jesus as my Lord and Savior. Since then He has truly led my path. We are in ministry only by His grace. We are so not worthy, but willing to be used in a powerful way for His Kingdom. My life verse and the first one I ever memorized is Proverbs 3:5-6, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, lean not on your own understanding, in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will set your path straight.” We would have missed out on so many blessings in this sweet life if we weren’t fully surrendered to His will.
“Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Write them on the door frames of your houses and on your gates.”
