To help us maintain a “faith over fear” mindset during the COVID-19 outbreak, here are 20 ways you can pray during this time of uncertainty. Even if we can’t meet together, we can still pray together.
- Pray that God will motivate all of us to use our freedom in Christ to willingly submit to the things our leaders and healthcare professionals recommend for us.
- Pray for our healthcare professionals, government leaders and civil servants who are critical to our response and need to remain healthy during this crisis.
- Ask God to arrest the spread of this virus.
- Pray for those who have no hope and no assurance, that in these days of uncertainty they would seek out the God of salvation.
- Ask God that Christians and the Church would clearly and powerfully share the hope we have in Jesus Christ.
- Pray that our response as a church and as Christ-followers will draw searching hearts to Jesus our Hope.
- Ask God to give us practical ways to choose Faith Over Fear.
- Rejoice in the Gospel, the Hope, the promises, and the peace that we have in Jesus.
- Thank Jesus for the peace that comes with faith.
- Pray for those who feel lost and alone, that they would reach out to Jesus today, in this moment.
- Rejoice that the Holy Spirit is our protector and our Paraclete.
- Pray that God will give us wisdom so that we can allow God’s peace to be the absolute pattern for our lives.
- Pray that God will lead us to those who are open, searching and ready to be pointed to Jesus.
- Ask God to remind us of his Word and his promises.
- Pray that we have teachable hearts to learn the lessons that God has for us in this situation.
- Ask God to show you how he wants you to, “Rise up. Let us go from here.” (John 14)
- Pray that our lives look like the dock that David described, floating with calm, safe and secure, on the surface of this uncertainty.
- Ask God to help you to experience his supernatural peace.
- Worship God for his peace, which passes understanding and cannot be found in anything besides Jesus.
- Rejoice that the words, “Fear not,” are given to us 365 time in the Bible, enough times that we can hear it every day of the year.
