PRAYER & PRACTICE
Marriage brings joy and connection—but it also comes with real challenges. These prompts are designed to help you talk honestly, pray intentionally, and grow together through it all. Use these prompts to pray together and apply what you’re learning. As you do, you’ll discover how God can strengthen your relationship from the inside out.
Week 1
Pray: Pray with your spouse this week about expectations in your marriage. Ask God to help you identify potentially harmful expectations, and to give you the humility to adjust in ways that help your spouse feel loved and valued.
Practice: Make time this week to talk together about your expectations, surprises, and disappointments. Commit to removing a harmful expectation about your spouse and instead, replace it with an act of gratitude.
Week 2
Pray: Pray with your spouse this week about the principle of “cleaving.” Ask God to reveal areas where you can further “cleave” to your spouse, and to provide the wisdom to carry that out.
Practice: Work with your spouse to make a list of the areas where you have successfully “cleaved,” as well as areas where you have struggled to “cleave.” Agree to implement one action this week to help you further “cleave” to your spouse.
