Family, work, finances, health – life can be difficult. And sometimes, you need a listening ear and someone to pray with you as you work through your feelings. Our One-on-One Care Ministry is here to come alongside and minister to people experiencing a crisis or a challenging situation.
Through our One-on-One Care Ministry, you can meet weekly to talk with a Stephen Minister for encouragement, support, and Christ-centered care.
What is Stephen Ministry?
The name Stephen Ministry comes from Stephen, one of the first laypeople commissioned by the Apostles to provide caring ministry to those in need (Acts 6:1–7). Stephen Ministers care for people facing life’s difficulties, such as divorce, family crisis, unemployment, illness, and grief.
Are Stephen Ministers licensed counselors?
Stephen Ministers are members of Fairhaven who have received 50 hours of caregiving-training and meet monthly for continuing education and supervision. However, they are NOT licensed counselors.
What is a care receiver?
A care receiver is a person who meets with a Stephen Minister for one-on-one care while experiencing a difficult time in life.
Is there a cost to meet with a Stephen Minister?
There is no cost, and meetings are confidential.
